About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Service Technician with strong fire systems expertise to join our growing team in Maryland. This role involves servicing a wide range of security and fire alarm systems across commercial properties, with a focus on troubleshooting, maintenance, and customer support.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the commercial security field, including:
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Alarm panels
  • Access control systems
  • Hardwired and wireless CCTV
  • Low voltage cabling
  • Locks, motion sensors, and related components
  • Strong fire alarm system experience is essential.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving across a variety of security equipment, including:
  • Alarm.com, DMP, DSC (832, 1832, Alexor, Impassa, Neo)
  • Qolsys, Bosch (B930), Honeywell, Concord, Vista
  • Motion sensors, door locks, glass break detectors, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
  • Familiarity with fire alarm panels such as:
  • Silent Knight (6808, 6820)
  • Potter AFC (1000, 100, IPA 60, IPA 100, IPA 4000V)
  • Training can be provided for fire systems if needed.
  • Strong understanding of system setup and integration.
  • Experience working in both new construction and occupied commercial environments.
  • Ability to manage time and schedules efficiently.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Professionalism and reliability in client-facing situations.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and manage a weekly service call schedule, averaging 4 tickets per day.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with various security and fire alarm systems.
  • Perform service calls that may range from one hour to multiple days.
  • Utilize a company-provided vehicle for travel to job sites.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, project managers, technical support, and clients.
  • Replace and install hardware as needed for quick fixes and system upgrades.
