About The Position

To provide a single source for the financial needs of a business by providing expertise with respect to Credit Union Business Loan, Deposit, and other ancillary products and services. Responsible for developing new, and strengthening existing, business member relationships by providing products and services of enhanced value.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years in commercial or corporate lending experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is required.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Must possess excellent negotiation skills
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills
  • Must be a self-starter capable of multi-tasking

Nice To Haves

  • Degree concentration in a business-related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops new business by contacting existing members and prospective members for loans and cross-selling additional Credit Union products and services.
  • Interviews member applicants and collects and analyzes financial and related data in order to determine the general credit worthiness of the member or prospective member and the merits of the specific loan request. Establishes and negotiates the terms under which credit will be extended, when necessary, including costs, repayment method, schedule, and collateral requirements.
  • Stays up to date on financial information and business activities of each member and guarantor(s); conducts an annual review of each member relationship as warranted. Monitors loan repayment activities and take necessary action to collect past due accounts.
  • Develops material for, and makes presentations to, the AVP and Loan Review Committee for approval.
  • Maintains knowledge of all credit functions and risk ratings on assigned loans as well as general compliance and fair lending issues. Adheres to the Credit Union's loan, documentation, and credit policies.
  • Motivates, mentors, and influences other lenders and department staff.
  • Supports and educates branches and other departments with exempt loan requests and referral opportunities to the Commercial Lending department.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
