About The Position

Provides support to Commercial Bankers (maybe one Banker or multiple and teaming up with other Loan Associates in the company). Responsible for timely and accurate productions of all types of commercial loan documentation, including but not limited to large complex credits and participations; additional responsibilities also include ensuring credits are documented in accordance with loan approvals, loan policy and applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Three to five years of banking experience or related experience and/or training in secretarial skills; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in the lending field is not required but is considered a plus.
  • Requires successful registration with, and issuance of a unique identification number from, the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) in compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (S.A.F.E. Act).

Nice To Haves

  • Loan Documentation, LaserPro or lending software systems experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of state and federal banking regulations, including but not limited to HMDA, Fair Lending, Community Reinvestment Act, and Flood Disaster Protection Act.
  • Strong working knowledge of real estate documents (Title Opinion, Title Policies, Mortgages, Appraisals, etc.).
  • Strong working knowledge of company structures and ownership (how to interpret the articles of inc/organization).
  • Strong working knowledge of UCC rules and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer, keyboard and software application (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) skills.
  • Strong ability to organize and prioritize work and manage time effectively (will likely have multiple loans going at once).
  • Strong ability to follow directions, comprehend new training, and adapt to changes in policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Produce standard loan and collateral documents for all types of commercial loan which comply with bank policy and all federal and state regulations.
  • Manage the commercial workflow process to ensure loans move through the pipeline efficiently.
  • Work the daily NSF/Past due report.
  • Work on the daily insurance report, when necessary.
  • Prepare loan documents through Laserpro or lending software systems and see it to the end with disbursements to include wire transfers and/or obtaining cashier’s checks.
  • Manage portfolio to ensure that loans are renewed on a timely basis. Assist the commercial banker wherever is needed. This would include working on the Loan Maturing Report on a regular basis and create Maturity Date Extensions when necessary.
  • Engages and provides timely responses to customers, commercial bankers, and outside vendors (Attorneys, insurance companies, etc) as needed for loan closings. Must be able to maintain effective relationships with these individuals on an ongoing basis.
  • Work efficiently to clear loan exceptions on all closed loans.
  • Review existing loan and collateral documentation to ensure that existing errors or deficiencies are resolved when processing renewals or originating new loans secured by existing collateral.
  • Obtain and review all supporting documentation for loans prior to closing, including but not limited to: 1. Credit approval and adherence to Bank policy (Preparing MLC Packages weekly, if necessary) 2. Financial reporting requirements and adherence to loan policy to include assisting with the completion of annual and mid-level reviews. 3. Organizational documents for all borrower types to ensure proper borrower authority (Beneficial Ownership information and Operating agreements with LLCs, Good Standing with the State, etc.) 4. UCC searches. 5. Flood Determinations. 6. Insurance gathering on collateral. 7. Appraisal orders through the FICRAS system.
  • Answer phone calls and assist commercial bankers, other bank employees and customers with various issues.
  • Adherence to and support of all compliance and BSA/AML rules and regulations related to this job function.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned by Management.
