The Commercial Support Manager reports to the Vice President of Commercial Lending and plays a critical role in supporting the commercial lending framework through leadership of the commercial support team. This position ensures that commercial loan documentation, processing, and compliance activities are completed accurately and efficiently. By building team capability and improving workflow coordination, the Commercial Support Manager enables lending leadership to focus on strategic growth, portfolio management, and underwriting oversight. This position supports both commercial lending and the retail driven small business pipeline by establishing standards, improving processes, and supporting timely loan delivery. The Commercial Support Manager fosters a collaborative and development focused environment that prepares the team to handle a wide range of commercial lending activities.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial lending products and documentation requirements
  • Strong understanding of commercial lending compliance and regulatory expectations

  • Ability to evaluate and streamline processes
  • Core System Proficiency
  • Experience with an LOS (loan servicing system) including loan setup, modifications, and GL validation
  • Finastra LaserPro for commercial loan document generation
  • Document imaging systems
  • CoreLogic flood system or Lereta
  • OFAC, AML, and KYC screening platforms
  • Commercial loan boarding to the core system
  • NAICS, call report coding, and CRA classifications
  • Amortization schedules and payment structuring
  • Collateral system setups including UCC, mortgage, insurance, and covenant tracking
  • Tickler and tracking system configuration
  • Interpretation of entity documentation including LLCs, LPs, trusts, and corporations
  • Flood, insurance, and title compliance workflows
  • QC checklist design and document exception management
  • Understanding of workflow across LOS to document preparation to core system to imaging
  • Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
  • Adobe and e signature platforms such as DocuSign
  • Five or more years of commercial lending experience required
  • Experience with commercial loan documentation and compliance required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior leadership or mentoring experience preferred
  • Credit union or financial institution experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop commercial support team members
  • Establish clear expectations and workflows to support commercial and small business lending volume
  • Provide training on commercial loan documentation, compliance requirements, and system utilization
  • Support professional and skill development to build a fully capable commercial support function
  • Oversee preparation, review, and processing of commercial loan documentation
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor quality control standards and resolve documentation or processing issues
  • Coordinate with lenders, analysts, underwriters, and business development partners to support timely loan closing and onboarding
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce errors
  • Support integration of small business loan processing from retail channels into commercial operations
  • Evaluate workload distribution and adjust staffing assignments as needed
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for commercial loan support processes, systems, and documentation platforms
  • Work closely with the Vice President of Commercial Lending and lending leadership team to align support operations with strategic priorities
  • Serve as a liaison between commercial lending, credit, loan operations, and retail business development
  • Provide updates on support activities, issues, and process improvements
