About The Position

The Commissioning Engineer II participates in controls engineering projects in the material handling industry and others. You will be responsible for commissioning and overseeing the installation of various equipment, plants, and systems on site. You will ensure products are working according to their specifications and meet the customers’ needs. You may also offer advice on or improve upon operational procedures. You will also investigate, diagnose, and repair faults as well as create and conduct test procedures. This position reports to the Engineering Team Lead. In this role, you will… Travel extensively to commission a variety of material handling projects. Lead teams of other commissioning engineers on-site, send daily reports to the project team, and maintain Spring’s internal commissioning tracker. Perform IO checks, configure field networks, and perform functional testing of conveyor systems. Bridge the gap from electrical installation to commissioning by working with Spring’s electrical installation supervisors to ensure electrical installation meets safety requirements, customer specifications, and Spring’s best practices. Collaborate frequently with other controls professionals on project teams. Assist project teams with PLC programming, HMI & SCADA development, and electrical design. Help with technical support, questions, and coaching.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or mechatronics engineering.
  • At least two years of experience working in controls or the material handling industry.
  • The ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Experience programming and implementing PLC-based control systems with simple to complex visualization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent technical skills.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
