The Commodity Manager is responsible for leading assigned supply chain management initiatives within the Purchasing group.

Requirements

  • Minumum age of 18
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel to be confirmed through a skills assessment
  • Advanced experience using MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with analytics and business intelligence tools such as Cognos
  • Ability to understand complex topics and produce forecasts based on variable information
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize assignments, and produce timely deliverables in a self-managed position
  • Possess effective communication skills both orally and in writing; able to successfully present complex topics to senior management
  • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language
  • Possess the legal right to work in the United States
  • Ability to travel occasionally

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with aircraft components and powerplant
  • Previous experience with aircraft component reliability analysis
  • Experience with contracts and other legal documents
  • Familiarity with accounting and finance concepts
  • Previous negotiating experience highly preferred
  • Project management experience

Responsibilities

  • Research, prepare, and analyze business decision support packages.
  • Prepare reliability summaries to support technical and commercial leadership meetings.
  • Analyze purchase and repair order cost and performance.
  • Analyze parts usage data.
  • Negotiate terms for goods and services with suppliers.
  • Manage Requests For Proposal (RFPs) including coordination with internal customers to determine project requirements.
  • Assess viability of supplier proposals.
  • Monitor contractual entitlements and obligations.
  • Develop purchasing and contract strategies with associated risk assessments and present to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain department reporting metrics and track performance.
  • Interface with Finance and Accounting related to budget, forecasting, and contract entitlements.
  • Assess Supplier performance, maintain beneficial commercial relationships with assigned suppliers, develop and implement procedures consistent with contractual obligations, and negotiate resolution of commercial issues, claims, or disputes.
  • Perform all required functions to deliver measurable and tangible results.
  • Negotiate terms consistent with approved parameters.
  • Responsible for handling, processing, and protecting confidential data while representing the company and department in a professional, ethical manner.
