This position is part of the Field Service team and is responsible for supporting public safety customers across Maryland and Washington, DC. In addition to the team's territory, this candidate will serve the Southern region of Maryland to ensure strong coverage within the territory. Because of the nature of this assignment, candidates must reside within a commutable distance to the service area to enable quick response to outages and critical incidents while on‑call. A company vehicle will be provided to support business-related travel. Mobile Communications America, Inc. Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years, an average of 5+ years of technical service and installation experience.
  • Proficient with radio equipment – installation, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven track record of providing hands-on operational, technical, and installation support/service to complex radio and other wireless communications systems/equipment (Two-Way Radios, Land Mobile Radios, P25 Trunking Systems, APX, MOTOTRBO, etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge/understanding of radio theory, RF propagation characteristics at various frequency bands, and communications systems.
  • Subscriber programming expert and can successfully program various radio types based on customer requirements.
  • Strong communication skills with end users and third parties.
  • P25 and/or MotoTRBO experience is required.
  • A current, valid driver’s license and no traffic violations, and the ability to successfully pass a drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and solving complex equipment, programming, system, and installation problems/issues. (Two-Way Radios, Land Mobile Radios, P25 Trunking Systems, APX, MOTOTRBO, etc.)
  • Fixing the system if things go wrong and bringing communications back online to public safety, hospitals, and other mission-critical customers.
  • Partnering with customers to develop an installation/programming strategy and coordinate with the team to ensure access to locations where products will be installed.
  • Assisting in the scoping out and quoting of service, installation, and programming projects.
  • Supporting the development of talent and technical skill sets of the service team.
  • Completing assigned tickets properly and on time.
  • Making minor modifications to electronic circuitry per customer request and/or deploying factory software/firmware updates.
  • Demonstrating a willingness to learn and be mentored on new technologies in communications and equipment.
  • Serving in an on-call rotation and providing 24/7 technical support.
