About The Position

The Corporate Communications team at Okta is a global, high-impact engine responsible for protecting and elevating the company’s reputation. Our team is composed of experts across Internal Communications, Crisis and Reputation, Executive Communications, Public Relations, Digital Communications, and our Newsroom. We are looking for an AI Strategy & Operations Intern to help us push the boundaries of what’s possible across all these functions. In this role, you will partner with our team to further integrate AI into our sophisticated communications ecosystem. This isn't just about using new tools; it’s about architecting the next generation of our operational strategy. We’re looking for a data-fluent marketing or communications student who can help us scale our AI "playbook," build shared resources for our global team, and deepen our data-driven insights.

Requirements

  • Academic Pursuit: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or Data Analytics and graduating December 2026 or Spring 2027. (We love candidates who sit at the intersection of "Storytelling" and "Data").
  • The "AI Architect" Mindset: You don't just use AI to write emails; you understand how to build sophisticated system prompts and custom agents (like Gemini Gems) that solve specific business problems.
  • Data-Driven Marketer: You are comfortable with "messy" data. You can take a list of news headlines or speaking invites and use tools to turn them into structured insights and visual trends.
  • Operationally Minded: You enjoy building systems that make work easier for others. You are the person who naturally wants to organize a chaotic spreadsheet or automate a repetitive task.
  • Strategic Communicator: You understand that "tone" and "voice" matter. You can distinguish between the professional nuance needed for an Executive and the fast-paced energy required for Social Media.
  • Self-Starter & Scout: You are naturally curious and stay 15 minutes ahead of the news cycle when it comes to new AI features, tools, and best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Automation Enthusiast: Experience with low-code automation tools (e.g., Airtable, Zapier, or Google Apps Script) to move data between platforms.
  • Visual Storyteller: Proficiency in creating simple but high-impact data visualizations (e.g., in Google Data Studio, Tableau, or even advanced Excel/Sheets).
  • Productivity Hacker: You’ve built your own "personal AI workflow" or side project that demonstrates how you use technology to multiply your own output.

Responsibilities

  • Architect the AI Hub: Build and curate a centralized "AI Playbook" and resource library (including custom Gemini Gems and prompt templates) tailored to the specific needs of our Internal, Executive, and PR teams.
  • Scale Global Workflows: Partner with sub-functions to identify and automate high-frequency tasks—such as synthesizing global news cycles for the Newsroom or drafting multi-channel social assets for Digital Comms.
  • Build the Executive Engagement Engine: Design and manage a centralized tracker for executive speaking engagements; use AI to categorize and analyze "Accepted," "Denied," and "Received" requests to identify strategic gaps and opportunities.
  • Advance Narrative Measurement: Leverage LLMs to transform unstructured media data into structured insights, for proactive messaging guidance.
  • Internal AI Enablement: Act as a "scout" for the team by pilot-testing new AI features and leading "how-to" sessions to ensure the global team remains at the cutting edge of AI proficiency.
