About The Position

As the Communications and Marketing Intern, you’ll join the Communications and Marketing Team at the Sanford School of Public Policy, contributing your unique voice and perspective while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. This internship invites you to explore, experiment, and build skills that will strengthen your portfolio and prepare you for future careers in communications, marketing, digital media, or public policy. You’ll take on meaningful projects and learn how strategic communications shape how a top public policy school is experienced by prospective students, alumni, and the broader public. Requirements

  • Enrollment as a current undergraduate or graduate student
  • Strong written communication skills and an interest in storytelling
  • Curiosity about marketing, communications, digital media, or public policy
  • Experience with or interest in social media platforms, video, photography, or graphic design
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute creative ideas

Responsibilities

  • Assist with editing short-form video content, including reels and YouTube shorts
  • Update and refresh content across Sanford School websites
  • Contribute to the creation of graduate program marketing materials such as viewbooks and impact reports
  • Support marketing initiatives aimed at prospective graduate students
  • Interview students about their summer internships and write engaging student profiles
  • Brainstorm, create, and support content for social media platforms
  • Track news and social media trends relevant to public policy and higher education
  • Help analyze website traffic and support the development of communications metrics
  • Help strategize and organize for events and lectures
