About The Position

We are seeking a Communications & Marketing Director to lead day‑to‑day communications and marketing efforts that support our mission and fundraising goals. This is a hands‑on, onsite role for a strong writer and communicator with experience in public relations, social media, and donor communications. Reporting to the CEO, this role ensures clear, consistent messaging across all platforms and works closely with the development team and leadership. ⚠️ This position is fully onsite in Syracuse, NY. Remote or hybrid work is not available.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Experience with PR, media relations, and social media
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

• Fundraising or donor communications experience

Responsibilities

• Lead public relations efforts, including press releases, media pitching, and crisis communications
• Manage media relationships and increase organizational visibility
• Develop and manage social media strategy and content calendars
• Write and edit donor communications, including direct mail, newsletters, and email campaigns
• Ensure consistent brand voice and messaging across all channels
• Track campaign performance and use insights to improve results
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors
