About The Position

Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver seeks a Communications Specialist and Administrative Assistant to join our team. Ascent is a classical charter school, and we are growing. We currently offer grades K-9 and plan to expand to K-12 by adding one grade per year, and we plan to add new sections to existing grades when we move into our permanent facility. We are looking for someone with high standards of excellence, a professional demeanor, and a can-do attitude to join our team and to help us build for the future. Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, and publish content for school newsletters, social media channels, and the school website
  • Schedule work time to align with school activity and other events before and after school, where in-person engagement is required
  • Collaborate with communications teams across the network of Ascent Colorado Schools
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Headmaster, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and organizing meetings
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence, reports, and presentations as needed
  • Support school operations throughout the weekly and annual school year cycle
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications on behalf of the Headmaster
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of school events, meetings, and special projects
  • Maintain accurate and organized filing systems, both electronic and physical
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure smooth communication and workflow within the school
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Develop and implement office procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Provide assistance and direction as needed to foster a supportive and respectful environment
  • Complete all required training and provide documentation as well as official college transcripts within 90 days of hire date
  • Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operations
  • Demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English to effectively perform their job responsibilities and communicate in the workplace
  • Perform other duties as assigned
