About The Position

The Communications Specialist, U.S. Corporate Affairs in partnership with the Head of U.S. Corporate Communications, will primarily support communications for the Alexion U.S. Business. The person in this role will be responsible for a wide variety of content generation, alignment and approvals across internal and external channels. These communications may include employee messages, town hall content, graphic and video development. The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in communications or related role
  • Strong writing, editing and proofing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with Adobe Express, graphic design principles, and light video editing.
  • Solid organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • An educational and/or professional background in communications, journalism or marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting communications about a variety of topics for the U.S. business, including memos, speeches, talking points, presentations, internal social media, PowerPoint decks, video scripts, external social posts, etc.
  • Content generation for the U.S. Commercial Workvivo Channel. This includes creating content drafts and managing the process, approvals, and postings on various topics. This individual will also pull through global campaigns and seasonal campaigns as appropriate.
  • Manages the logistics for quarterly town hall meetings, including meeting room setup, technology vendor coordination, speaker prep, rehearsals, logistics, slide design, onsite trouble shooting, live Q&A, etc.
  • Supports video communications for the U.S. business, including content creation, filming, light editing and finalizing approvals and posting of content.
  • Provides communications support for Boston Seaport site, including drafting messages for the Boston site engagement leader.
