About The Position

The Communication Strategist is responsible for planning, creating, and optimizing high-impact content that advances organizational goals. This role is accountable to craft and implement communication strategies that drive engagement, enhance brand reputation, and support employees through organizational change. The Communication Strategist will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and alignment in messaging across various channels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 7 or more years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field, including 3 or more years in a senior level role.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft clear, concise, and impactful messages for diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement communication plans for large organizational change initiatives such as restructurings, mergers, and new ventures.
  • Demonstrated experience managing media relations, including drafting press releases, pitching stories, and responding to inquiries from journalists and media outlets.
  • Strong strategic planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to align communications with business objectives and organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organization and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and leaders to drive enterprise-level initiatives.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and quickly adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead communication strategy for complex organizational change initiatives.
  • Define audience strategies, narrative arcs, objectives and success measures across channels.
  • Serve as communications lead and advisor to initiative sponsors and project leaders on content best practices and communication approaches.
  • Determine approach, scope and timelines for communication plans.
  • Create and edit content for regular employee communications including emails, newsletters, intranet articles, leader toolkits, and FAQs.
  • Collaborate with the Content Manager to ensure consistency in messaging, tone and voice across internal communications.
  • Integrate internal and external touchpoints for assigned initiatives, including media relations, company blog and social, to reinforce a single source of truth.
  • Own media relations for assigned topics.
  • Set strategy, draft releases, pitch stories and coordinate responses to inquiries.
  • Create content for external platforms and oversee contributions from others to ensure messaging aligns with brand, strategy and company values.
  • Contribute to content standards, guidelines, and processes and support content governance efforts to ensure quality, compliance, and efficiency.
