As the Community and Events Coordinator you will serve as a leader of school culture and community engagement. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of school events, family partnership initiatives, team engagement activities, and recruitment efforts. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience in event coordination, community engagement, or school operations considered
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in event planning, community outreach, or a related field (school setting preferred)
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Canva, and social media platforms
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for school events

Responsibilities

  • Embody & Élan Academy’s mission, vision, and values;
  • Participate in an annual summer staff orientation and training;
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute academic events including Book Fair, Back to School Night, and Honor Roll Breakfast
  • Manage all logistics for 8th Grade milestone events, including graduation ceremony and prom
  • Coordinate Pre-K and Kindergarten graduation ceremonies
  • Develop detailed event logistics plans and timelines for all school-wide events
  • Collaborate with academic leadership to ensure events align with the school’s mission and instructional goals
  • Plan and facilitate family partnership events that strengthen the connection between home and school
  • Lead PTA recruitment efforts and coordinate monthly PTA meetings
  • Serve as a key point of contact for families, fostering a welcoming and inclusive school community
  • Develop and execute fundraising campaigns and events to support school programs and initiatives
  • Track fundraising goals, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely communication with stakeholders
  • Support recruitment efforts for both staff and scholars, including outreach events, school tours, and community engagement
  • Represent Élan Academy at recruitment fairs, community events, and partner organization meetings
  • Coordinate scholar and staff birthday celebrations
  • Organize team happy hours, team builders, and staff appreciation activities
  • Oversee the creation and production of the school yearbook
  • Provide front office support as needed, including greeting families, managing phone calls, and handling visitor check-ins
  • Maintain organized records for all events, including budgets, attendance, and post-event evaluations
