About The Position

Housing Development Corporation MidAtlantic (HDC) is seeking a Full-Time Community Assistant to join our team at Glenbrook Apartments in Atglen, PA and Oakbottom Village II in Quarryville, PA. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following statements reflect the general duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job and should not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements of the position.  HDC may change the specific job duties with or without prior notice based on the needs of the organization. Under supervision the Community Assistant is responsible for performing daily secretarial, clerical, and office tasks with an assigned community. Supports the Community Manager in operating the community to meet financial obligations while reflecting HDC mission, meeting daily with residents, employees, and neighbors.

Requirements

  • Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent required, along with a valid driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of drug screening and criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Position prefers a one year minimum in Office Assistant or related work experience.
  • Prefers experience with an affordable housing background.

Responsibilities

  • Operate administrative activities involved with the community.
  • Maintain a working relationship with residents and employees.
  • Assist Community Managers by maintaining updated and accurate files on all resident related items and dispatch resident work orders.
  • Assist Community Managers in maintaining positive resident relations programs assuring good public relations and tenant satisfaction programs.
  • Assist Community Managers in planning resident events.
  • Publish standard resident notification memos for review and distribution.
  • Manage security access card programming.
  • Maintain filing system for all routine reports and other deadlines required during a given week, month, and quarter.
  • Perform all other duties as directed by the Community Manager and assist the overall team effort, as needed.
