About The Position

Hiring Immediately – $24/hr + $150-$360 per week in bonus potential Full-time & Part-time Help us gather signatures in San Diego to qualify a local measure that protects essential services like emergency response and disaster preparedness for our communities. From now through May, our team will engage directly with voters at high-traffic community locations to collect signatures and build support. This is face-to-face petitioning at public sites, not door-to-door canvassing or fundraising. This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in the following areas: Leadership, Communication & Advocacy, Community Outreach & Engagement, Campaign Work, Public Policy, and Social Enterprise. Get paid well! Canvassing positions start at $24/hour. Team Lead positions start at $26/hour. We offer performance bonuses, paid training, sick pay, and bonuses for friend referrals. Requirements

• Passionate about progressive politics and fostering democracy
• Strong communication skills; you should enjoy working with other people and be willing and excited to speak with everyone
• Hard worker who will stay motivated to engage as many people as possible
• Open to new challenges and interested in building their campaign skills
• Culturally competent and able to respectfully engage with teammates and the community
• Employees must be eligible to work in the US.
• Upon hire, everyone will be required to present original, and unexpired documents from the Lists of Acceptable Documents to complete the I-9 form verification.

Nice To Haves

• Prior canvassing, petitioning, or field experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner
• Deliver a clear campaign message and collect complete petition signatures from voters
• Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills
• Follow the campaign’s safety protocols
• Manage a small group of canvassers in the field by checking in with them periodically throughout the day and debriefing with them at the end of the day
• Ensure each canvasser has all the materials they need to be successful
• Assist directors with canvasser training and administrative work
