About The Position

The Community Engagement Manager oversees all office, store, committee, and outreach volunteers for Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona. The volunteers whom this individual manages support staff in progressing Habitat’s mission through ReStore maintenance, family and community partnership, and administrative upkeep. The individual is also responsible for the development and management of Habitat’s youth – focused, volunteer programs. This role is critical for developing and retaining relationships in our local community through individuals and community groups such as schools/universities, corporations, and other affiliated charity partners.

  • Must have valid Arizona Driver License, auto insurance (certain level of coverage is required to receive mileage reimbursement) and reliable vehicle.
  • Sensitivity to multi-cultural and multi-economic participants.
  • High School Diploma, Associate’s degree (A.A.) or the equivalent to 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and support the mission, vision and values of Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all Habitat stakeholders to create and maintain long-term relationships.
  • Recruit, train, and retain volunteers for 300+ non-construction, volunteer positions monthly including office, committees, advocacy, four ReStores, deconstruction, and court-ordered community service.
  • Identify and market opportunities for youth volunteers (primary to college-aged) to engage in Habitat’s mission, administering all aspects of coordination. Involved youth programs include but not limited to Habitat Campus Chapter, Habitat Collegiate Challenge, Habitat Young Professionals, and the annual Global Youth Service Day.
  • Re-establish standard of operations for outreach, volunteer “Ambassador” program, to produce 15+ advocates trained and dedicated to the organization mission, vision, and values.
  • Onsite volunteer management to include volunteer check-in, assignment delegation, meal and swag deliveries, site paperwork organization, safety equipment management, training and public speaking as needed Tuesday – Saturday (high focus on Saturdays.)
  • Design and maintain VolunteerHub, event postings for non-construction, volunteer events to ensure seamless user experience for all stakeholders to promote organizational events and steward new and recurring volunteers.
  • Develop and lead new, volunteer orientations to match prospective volunteers with appropriate positions within both the construction and non-construction programs, involving other Habitat staff when necessary.
  • Produce ongoing departmental reports using both VolunteerHub and Raiser’s Edge NXT to showcase relevant volunteer/group data as requested.
  • Represent Habitat Central Arizona as an ambassador at community events to recruit and steward volunteer and sponsor relationships.
  • Occasional weeknight and/or weekend events expected.
  • Duties may change or be assigned, as necessary.
