About The Position

We are looking for a dynamic, relationship-driven team member who enjoys community engagement, hands-on work, and meaningful service. This role includes a mix of public-facing outreach, behind-the-scenes of events, volunteer engagement, and Donated Equipment Program support. Schedule: This is a full-time, in-office position. Standard hours follow ConnectAbility of MN’s business schedule, with somewhat regular events and the potential for occasional evening or weekend work depending on community activities.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and general comfort using technology and databases.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and problem-solve in a dynamic environment.
  • Comfort using basic hand tools and performing simple equipment repairs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service mindset and professionalism when engaging with diverse community members.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Experience in community engagement, program support, nonprofit work, customer service, volunteer coordination, or administrative roles is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities and seniors is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and move program-related materials or equipment as needed (up to 40lbs).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites and events (mileage reimbursed per policy).
  • Occasional evening/weekend participation in events and outreach activities.

Responsibilities

  • Represent ConnectAbility of MN at community events, resource fairs, and outreach activities, including staffing resource tables and offering brief presentations.
  • Initiate and build new community partnerships while maintaining positive relationships with existing partners.
  • Distribute outreach materials, share program information, and engage with community members in a friendly, professional, and mission-centered manner.
  • Gather stories, photos, and impact examples for internal reporting, marketing, and grant requirements (with appropriate consent).
  • Assist with event planning and logistics, including scheduling, coordination, ordering supplies, and supporting event setup and cleanup.
  • Track event attendance, engagement metrics, and other outreach data to support program evaluation.
  • Coordinate volunteers, including assigning tasks, offering training/guidance, and supporting a positive volunteer experience.
  • Manage the intake, cleaning, basic repair, organization, and distribution of donated equipment.
  • Use basic tools and cleaning supplies to safely prepare equipment for community distribution.
  • Enter and maintain accurate equipment and inventory data using designated tracking systems (e.g., Salesforce, logs, spreadsheets).
  • Communicate with community members regarding equipment availability, pickups, drop-offs, and program guidelines.
  • Conduct quarterly inventory counts and maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace for program operations.
  • Transport equipment for pop-ups using a personal vehicle when needed (mileage reimbursed according to policy).
  • Assist in gathering data, stories, photos, and documentation for grant reporting, compliance, and organizational reporting needs.
  • Track receipts and follow established budget-tracking processes for program supplies, events, and equipment needs.
  • Collaborate with team members across ConnectAbility of MN to support program development and problem-solving.
  • Participate in meetings, training, and organizational initiatives.
  • Provide general operational support, including responding to emails/calls related to programs, scheduling needs, and assisting with coordination tasks.
  • Uphold professionalism, confidentiality, and respectful communication with clients, partners, volunteers, and team members.
  • Perform other related duties to support the success of the team and organization.
