Community Engagement Specialist
About The Position
Overview: The Community Engagement Specialist supports SCN and its partners in developing and implementing strategies and programs that increase feelings of belonging, support and opportunity among residents of all ages. This position will strengthen partnerships with residents of all ages and coordinate delivery of partner-led community-based programming. The Community Engagement Specialist plays a key role in supporting SCN’s work to better understand and address residents’ needs. Description Works with the five Summit schools, Summit Park District, Summit Library and Summit Welcome Center as anchors to identify specific gaps in service Works with SCN partners to communicate community priorities and support the development of responsive services Develops, maintains, and publicizes a schedule of programs and activities offered in partnership with Summit Community Network Supports partners to leverage existing community programming and resources to enrich services and expand reach Recruits members for and facilitates quarterly meetings of a Resident Advisory Group and Senior Advisory Group Ensures coordination of resources across projects to avoid duplication Works with SCN Coordinator and SGA Evaluation Team to ensure that community engagement activities utilize appropriate evaluation instruments and collect data on a timely basis Provides support and consultation to community based organizations that are delivering services Supports schools and community partners in identifying individuals and organizations that offer programs and services funded through this initiative Supports the SCN Coordinator and coordinates with SGA finance department for the payment of partner invoices. Perform other duties as assigned.
