About The Position

The main purpose of this position is to preserve, promote and protect the health of all Anne Arundel County residents by providing public health nursing clinical services to individuals and families who present to the Anne Arundel County Department of Health in its health centers or within the community. This position will provide services including adult and child immunization administration and compliance, reproductive health services, STI testing and Tuberculosis testing and treatment. The employee in this position must have a valid driver’s license, a reliable personal vehicle and be covered by automobile insurance. This position will be required to work day shift, evening shift and weekends as needed and be able to stand, walk, bend and lift 25 lbs.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
Employees in this classification will be required to provide the facility with a telephone number at which they can be reached.

Nice To Haves

Experience with phlebotomy and vaccines.
Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Experience using Microsoft Office software as well as other related tools and systems.
Experience demonstrating strong communication, organizational and multitasking abilities.
