About The Position

Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first The Community Engagement Professional cultivates the organization's social community through community advocacy programs and active engagement with community members. The Community Management Professional work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action. Community Management Professional act as the bridge between Humana Healthy Horizons and the community, planning and executing outreach programs and events. They aim to build and sustain relationships within the community, promote the Humana’s mission and services, and create opportunities for engagement and participation. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of community issues, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements

• 2+ years’ experience in a Community Engagement/Management or similar role
• Must reside in the state of Virginia (Charlottesville, Danville, Harrisonburg, Lynchburg, Louisa, Amherst, Halifax or Pittsylvania) and travel 3-5 days a week
• Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office to include, Word, Excel, Power Point
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
• Understanding of community issues and dedication to addressing the needs of the community
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Travel 3-5 days a week
• Must have a Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and the ability to travel within the state, as required
• This role is part of Humana's Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100,000/300,000/100,000 limits.
• To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is required. Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with presenting
• Experience in Managed Care or Health Insurance
• Prior experience with Medicare & Medicaid recipients.
• Knowledge of community health and social service agencies and additional community resources.
• Community engagement and event experience is a plus.
• At least one to three years of professional communications experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

• Working with marketing and communications teams to promote community events and initiatives
