About The Position

The Community Programming & Events Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting City events, recreation programs, commission operations, facility reservations, and department communications. This position helps ensure efficient operations, positive community engagement, and memorable experiences for residents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; AND Two (2) years of administrative, recreation, event coordination, marketing, or related experience; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required for meetings, programs, and events.
  • Ability to perform physical duties associated with event setup and recreation programming (standing, walking, lifting, bending, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Recorder for the ARCH Commission, including attending meetings, preparing detailed minutes, and organizing meeting materials.
  • Coordinate pavilion, park, court, and field reservations using the City's reservation system.
  • Assist in planning and executing City events such as Impact Fair, Bunny Hop Egg Drop, Earth Day, Bike Month, Movies in the Park, Independence Day, Patriot Day, Boo-A-Palooza, and the Tree Lighting Ceremony.
  • Support Pee-Wee Sports programming through lesson preparation, referee coordination, setup, cleanup, and participant engagement.
  • Assist with coordination of the Gold Rush 5K & 1K and Blizzard 5K & 1K races, including ordering race materials, preparing packets, and providing race-day support.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for City-sponsored events, responding to public inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
  • Maintain department records, prepare reports, and assist with general administrative duties.
  • Assist the Administrative Director with daily operations, special projects, reporting, and other assigned responsibilities.
