About The Position

In accordance with The Arc of Anchorage's mission, vision, and core values, The Center Team Leader is responsible for ensuring all-day habilitation and information and referral services provided by the team adhere to The Arc's Mission and Values. These duties are accomplished through direct supervision of The CE/QL Team Leader I, Recreation Center Team Leader I, and program oversight. The Center Team Leader II is responsible for the daily operation of The Center by managing its resources in an efficient manner with outcomes that are aligned with the personal outcomes of the individuals served. The Center Team Leader II is accountable to the person receiving support, their team, and the agency.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • Social Service with individuals who experience an intellectual or developmental disability (1-2 Years’ experience)
  • Management or supervisory (1-2 Years’ experience)
  • Ability to use a personal computer, fax machine, and other appropriate office equipment.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Background checks as defined by licensing agencies
  • Current TB test/clearance
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Clean driving record

  • Associates in Social Work, Human Services, or Related Field

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for guiding and monitoring arts and recreational planning activities.
  • Develops, plans, and implements activities/classes in the following areas: recreation, leisure, social skills, crafts, outdoor/nature, daily living, community awareness, cultural events, and other areas in accordance with the individual's abilities and interests levels.
  • Plans and schedules transportation for individuals to recreation activities and community functions.
  • Responsible for facilitating staff meetings and coordinating staff training.
  • Responsible for collaborating with community agencies.
  • Attends in-service training, staff meetings, and plan of care meetings as required.
  • Participate as a team member working towards common goals, developing its member's skills, efficiently using time and talents, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Establishes and maintains effective positive working relationships with individuals, families, agency personnel, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicates openly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Ensures minimum standards for program compliance and quality as defined by the agency with oversight while working cooperatively towards continuous quality enhancement.
  • Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates discretion and integrity
