About The Position

The Sr. Compliance Auditor is responsible for implementation of the Corporate Compliance Plan and ensures WakeMed is billing in accordance with federal and state regulations on facility documentation, coding, and billing. The Sr. Auditor works under direction of the Corporate Compliance leadership but is expected to function at a high level of independence as to assigned projects while drawing on expertise and involvement of the team. They will provide guidance to employees, serve as a department resource, and manage external vendors. Partner with hospital departments to analyze and resolve any coding or compliance related issues to minimize organizational risk. The analyst is responsible for individual projects and team projects as needed and must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The Sr. Auditor will be responsible for managing and assigning all physician related work plan projects to team members. Ensures team members adhere to the defined audit timeline and audit standard work processes. Assists with development of the audit schedule; identifies services to be audited.

  • Registered Health Information Technician Required
  • Certified Coding Specialist- Physician Required
  • Certified Coding Associate Required
  • Certified Professional Coder Required
  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance Required
  • Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner Required
  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 5 Years Auditing Required
  • 5 Years Compliance Required
  • 5 Years Accounting/Finance - Revenue Cycle Required
  • 5 Years Education - Teaching and Facilitation of Learning Required
  • 5 Years Process Improvement Required
