We are seeking a talented and motivated Compliance Engineer to support regulatory compliance activities related to Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC/EMI), Radio Frequency (RF), and Product Safety for our electronic products. This role works cross‑functionally with design, test, and certification teams to help ensure products meet global regulatory requirements and standards. However, this is more than just a Compliance role. It’s a chance to contribute to the future of product innovation at Crestron. You’ll play an essential part in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, enabling global reach and customer trust. You’ll collaborate with passionate engineers and work with advanced test equipment on the latest A/V technologies. You will participate in compliance testing—including Conducted and Radiated Emissions, Surge, Conducted and Radiated Immunity, ESD, RF testing for Wi‑Fi, Zigbee, Bluetooth devices, and Product Safety evaluations under standards such as IEC 62368. You will also assist with coordination of external 3rd‑party labs (UL, ETL), including requesting quotes, preparing test instructions, maintaining critical components lists, and supporting product certification. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in electronics design, testing, or compliance (or relevant internships/co-op experience).
  • Understanding of EMC/EMI, RF, and/or product safety concepts and standards.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, LISNs, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Familiarity with wireless technologies (Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, Zigbee) and their regulatory requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks across multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Self‑starter mindset with an interest in continuous improvement and learning.

Responsibilities

  • Support compliance activities throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Assist in developing and executing test plans for pre‑compliance and formal certification.
  • Work with external labs (UL, ETL) to coordinate quotes, certifications, and testing.
  • Interpret and apply international compliance standards (CISPR, EN, IEC, ANSI, ETSI, ISO).
  • Review schematics, PCB layouts, and mechanical designs for potential compliance issues.
  • Provide design teams with guidance on EMC, RF, and safety best practices.
  • Prepare setup instructions and create/maintain critical component lists.
  • Maintain documentation required for regulatory submissions and audits.
  • Stay informed about updates to global regulatory requirements.
  • Use EMC software tools such as BAT EMC for data processing and analysis.
