Compliance & Privacy Coordinator
About The Position
The Compliance & Privacy Coordinator is dedicated to a regional market (i.e. Orangeburg) for the Medical University Hospital Authority/Medical Center. This position reports to the Charleston Compliance & Privacy Manager in assisting the Compliance Director and Privacy Director with executing their respective programs. This position objectively manages and oversees dozens of service line directors and managers who additionally serve as functional compliance liaisons. As an independent and objective agent to these functional liaisons, the Compliance & Privacy Coordinator conducts regular meetings to monitor, evaluate, and resolve, if necessary, compliance and privacy questions, concerns, and audit deficiencies, as well as addresses applicable rules and regulations. More specifically, the Compliance & Privacy Coordinator (1) assists with the annual risk assessment, (2) remediates facility-specific compliance/privacy allegations; (3) develops and/or administers on-going compliance education; (4) conducts and/or oversees a variety of auditing and monitoring of activities, 5) researches and responds to compliance related questions; (6) stays abreast of and communicates changes to applicable regulations; (7) develops and oversees the functional compliance officers and their respective workplans; (8) facilitates and responds to any third-party compliance/privacy investigations; (9) provides reports to the necessary councils, committees, and other forms of leadership, and (10) maintains the compliance/privacy database for all site-specific activities conducted.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent
- 4-6 years Work Experience
