About The Position

As a Senior Compliance Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring Wise's adherence to regulatory requirements, particularly those supporting our ongoing licensing and regulatory reporting requirements. Your responsibilities will include: Regulatory Reporting: Develop and maintain oversight of all US and Canada regulatory reporting obligations, ensuring timely and accurate submission of ongoing and ad hoc reporting requests. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the right stakeholders identify, harmonize, and report the right data to the right regulators. Reporting Governance: Develop and maintain processes and procedures to support oversight of regulatory reporting obligations. Regulatory Engagements & RFIs: Support the compliance team by facilitating response to all reporting requests received during regulatory engagements such as audits, exams, and compliance reviews. Record Retention: Ensure all supporting records are retained in compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Prior experience (or interest in) working in the fast-paced financial-technology industry, at a payment company or at another licensed entity in risk or compliance.
  • Knowledge of money transmission, unclaimed property, and consumer compliance regulations (Reg E, UDAAP, E-Sign Act, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) with ability to communicate effectively with regulators and auditors.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Results orientated, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience working with internal cross-functional stakeholders including product, operation, finance, legal, and people teams
  • Discretion and personal integrity, especially in regards to sensitive financial, personal, and corporate information
  • Ability to be both reactive and help solve problems in the moment as well as proactive, building longer term solutions using data-driven decision making
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Bachelor's degree or directly relevant experience

Nice To Haves

  • MSB experience in licensing and / or regulatory reporting, including experience utilizing NMLS and US / Canadian state and territory portals and processes.
  • Solid understanding of internal and external reporting systems (NMLS, NAUPA, etc.)
  • Prior experience working with regulators such as CFPB, OCC, and/or state regulator (e.g. NYDFS, DFPI)
  • Experience working with international teams and understanding of global regulatory environments.
  • Experience using G-Suite, Office, Confluence, Jira and collaborative tools (e.g. Slack, Teams)
