About The Position

Work Arrangement This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week The selected candidate will be required to travel at least 50% or more on a frequent basis to MFG Plant visits The Role Manage day-to-day operations while coordinating activities of all assigned departments Coach, train, develop and evaluate employees Achieve Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environmental metrics and achieve budget goals Lead through teaching GMS operating requirements and serves as GMS principal lead for regional GMS activities Work closely with other departments within and outside of the manufacturing team Maintain corporate and unit management control systems, budget and other information necessary to monitor performance Assist in the forecasting of areas of responsibility Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to company policies and procedures while upholding GM’s vision, values, and cultural behaviors What You’ll Do Productivity / Optimization / Cobots: Maintain and consistently achieve or exceed productivity, optimization, and cobot‑related performance targets. Strategic Operations: Partner effectively with the scheduling team, engine plants, and casting operations to drive efficiency and operational excellence. Relationships & Leadership: Serve as a trusted motivator and problem‑solving resource for Plant Directors, offering timely support and guidance. Leadership & Collaboration: Drive cross-sector alignment by leading continuous improvement touchpoints, acting as the primary contact for key functional partners, and ensuring cohesive teamwork to deliver sector priorities. Results & Innovation: Demonstrate urgency and accountability in progressing optimization projects, staying engaged through completion, and embracing new technologies to enhance performance. Influential Voice: Use deep data analysis—partnering closely with the Continuous Improvement team—to hold stakeholders accountable and drive measurable improvements. Coordinate and schedule plant visits to support problem‑solving and critical operational initiatives. Safety: Serve as the Sector Safety Champion, modeling and reinforcing safe behaviors and expectations. Operational Excellence: Maintain strong oversight of headcount, LTP, manufacturing optimization, and productivity with exceptional attention to detail. Lead LTP planning and proactively monitor scorecard metrics to ensure target achievement. Hourly Headcount: Act as the Hourly Headcount planner and approver.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10 years of manufacturing experience or relevant cross-functional experience (e.g., ME, Operations, or comparable)
