About The Position

This position will work directly with the Compounding and Ops department. This study will focus on all major work processes within compounding, including, but not limited to, blending of each specific formula base, sanitizing, housekeeping, material movement, the blend approval process and interactions with other departments. This project will analyze, measure, and document the time required for qualified operators to complete specific manufacturing tasks under normal conditions in the compounding department. This data will be used to establish benchmarks, improve efficiency, and reduce cycle times. This project will systematically evaluate how work is performed by different individuals, determining best practice, and where opportunities exist to improve efficiency, consistency, and productivity.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled and seeking a degree in Industrial or Process Engineering.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship
  • Available to complete internship May 11, 2026, or May 18, 2026 - August 07, 2026, or August 14, 2026 (dates flexible).
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship or work experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical skills, skilled in Excel spreadsheets and knowledge of presentation and word processing software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good critical thinking skills.
  • Detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and document blend times and steps
  • Capture operational differences in blend operations and utilize critical thinking to drive problem solving to determine best ways of working
  • Utilize data analysis to proactively identify issues and generate solutions: RedZone, Tableau, PowerBI
  • Understanding of lean tools and processes with continued sustainability in mind: CILs, Centerlines, 5S, Continuous Improvement
  • Drive standardization across the plant and site
  • Actively participate in problem solving
  • Build site knowledge by continuously engaging operations team members to fix problems. Provide them opportunity to learn by doing. Teach vs Fixing.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors, maintenance, and training to identify training and capability gaps and support creation and delivery of training to close the gaps.
