Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products. Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition. What is my role type? In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work. We’ve introduced role types to help you understand how you will operate in our blended work environment. This role is: Onsite : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility. As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent and 5+ years of equivalent experience OR Advanced Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience and 3+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of Airfoils/Blades
  • Proficiency in structural finite element methods.
  • Focus on results and the ability to drive tasks to completion.
  • Demonstrated success working effectively in fast-paced, team environment.
  • Demonstrated success working independently to accomplish project goals.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging excellent written and oral communication skills required to convey results and ideas effectively to drive business.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead tasks to deliver results with cross-functional integration.
  • Coach/mentor team members.
  • Perform structural analysis of High-Pressure Compressor (HPC) components via hand calculations and finite element analysis with minimal oversight.
  • Utilize analysis results to provide recommendations/proposals to the Integrated Product Team (IPT).
  • Work closely with all engineering disciplines on the IPT to identify balanced solutions to technical tasks.
  • Utilize latest P&W structural best practices and analytical tools.
  • Provide documentation of analyses in the form of formal reports and presentations for management and customers.
  • Travel up to 10%
