About The Position

The Technical Service Engineer position leads design and delivery of technical training programs across all operating areas. Determines training objectives by conducting analysis of overall needs and specific skill or knowledge gaps. This position is instrumental in maintaining Flowco – Surface Equipment’s place as an industry leader in delivering reliable and innovative compression solutions. Frequent travel and work in field locations will be required. Day to day tasks will vary, but may include:

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical experience
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical equipment
  • Proficiency in relevant software and systems
  • Knowledge of reciprocating gas compressors and general oil/gas production practices
  • Strong attention to detail, observation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and understand drawings
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and established goals and objectives in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps, and use ladder for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Vision required: 20/40 with or without corrective lenses to accurately read all related distribution documents

Responsibilities

  • Encourage and promote a strong Safety Culture.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Develop and grow knowledge and practical experience of a broad range of mechanical, electrical and thermodynamic subjects needed to maintain, diagnose and repair compressors.
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analyses by utilizing forensic engineering principles and techniques to collect evidence, formulate conclusions, prepare reports, and champion corrective actions.
  • Interact with internal sales staff and occasionally customers to keep them abreast of equipment repair efforts.
  • Serve as a technical resource for company personnel to support reliable operations, establish maintenance practices, diagnose problems, optimize processes, and train technicians.
  • Collaborate with company’s fleet management team to identify and propose new directions equipment selections.
  • Attends industry technical conferences, keeping abreast of industry developments and trends
  • Ability to assimilate complex ideas and data, distilling into presentations and reports for distribution internally and external to the company.
  • Support development of control systems and process improvements to reduce CoPQ.
  • Work with company’s vendors to address concerns and develop solutions when needed.
  • Serves as project lead on new product development efforts.
  • In cooperation with team, aid the development, validation, implementation, and maintenance of SOPs and work instructions.

  • Adhere to company policy, procedures, and rules.
