We are seeking a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to support the Veteran community in the Syracuse, NY area. This position is open to all candidates, including Locum or Traveling professionals. Position Highlights: Logistics: Contract Type: 6-month tour with an option to extend beyond the 6-month commitment Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm- Shift Varies Location: Syracuse, NY (VAMC) What does a typical day look like for the Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist? You will: Clinical Hours Shift: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm- Shift Varies Prepare the patient for radiographic or sonographic procedures by assessing the patient’s needs and providing pretest patient education, explaining procedures and answering questions; provide reassurance and support to the patient throughout the procedure; assure understanding of discharge instructions before the patient leaves care area. Perform diagnostic imaging examinations according to the service’s procedures. Locate and record internal elements of the body, including blood vessels and organs. Perform quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images; adjust equipment and position patient to eliminate test artifacts, protect patient from unnecessary radiation exposure by positioning lead shields or limiting the size of x-ray beams.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Unrestricted Licensed to practice Radiologic Technology in a state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • Certification in Computed Tomography and Diagnostic X-ray with the ARRT.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • CT abdomen I- and I+
  • Low dose chest CT

  • CT Head Neck Chest I- I +
  • CT Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar spine
  • CT Cystogram
  • CT facial bones
  • CT IVP
  • CT PE protocol
  • CTA of the head

  • CTA Abdomen, Pelvis
  • CT GI Bleed
  • CT soft-tissue neck
  • CT Post EVAR
  • CT renal mass
  • CT IAC
  • Ct Biopsies
  • If selected, candidates will need to complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes.

  • Previous experience with the VA is a plus
