About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our imaging team. The CT Technologist is responsible for operating advanced diagnostic scanning equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' internal structures. This role is vital in helping physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions accurately while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Current certification and registration in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Post-primary ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) is required or must be obtained within a specified timeframe.
  • Valid state licensure or certification for radiologic technologists, where applicable.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.
  • Proficiency in venous access and the manual or power injection of contrast agents.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot complex imaging software.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patients for CT scans, explaining procedures to alleviate anxiety and ensure cooperation.
  • Operate CT scanners and related equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images according to established protocols.
  • Administer contrast media as directed by a radiologist, monitoring patients for any adverse allergic reactions.
  • Evaluate completed images for technical quality, ensuring they meet the diagnostic requirements of the interpreting physician.
  • Review patient medical history and screen for contraindications, such as pregnancy or impaired renal function.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including documentation of radiation dose and contrast administration.
  • Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on CT equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate department.
  • Adhere to strict radiation safety standards (ALARA) to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self.
  • Coordinate with nursing and emergency staff to prioritize urgent or STAT scans in a high-volume environment.
