In this position... The CAE Durability Engineer will be responsible for supporting vibrational structural durability analysis on various powertrain parts for both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) platforms. The ideal candidate will participate in technical design review meetings and contribute to the development of CAE methodology, ensuring that analysis results are effectively communicated to stakeholders, including management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, or aerospace engineering required or a related field
  • 3+ Years - Automotive durability CAE experience.
  • 3+ Years Strong experience with vibrational durability analysis.
  • Proficiency with Abaqus and/or Nastran for structural and durability simulations.
  • Solid understanding of Time-series and frequency-domain road-load durability methods
  • Familiarity with AI tools and workflows (e.g., Python-based tools, ML frameworks, or CAE automation).
  • Ability to think beyond traditional CAE methods and explore data-driven solutions.
  • Smart, energetic, and proactive problem-solver.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Able to run multiple analyses in parallel without losing quality or rigor.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and willing to learn new methods and tools quickly.
  • Strong ownership mindset with attention to both technical accuracy and delivery timing.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with scripting (Python preferred).
  • Exposure to fatigue tools (e.g., nCode or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct vibrational structural durability analysis on powertrain components.
  • Conduct time-series (time-domain) and frequency-domain (PSD) road-load durability analyses, to predict stress and fatigue life on powertrain components.
  • Develop, run, and post-process linear and nonlinear structural analyses.
  • Efficiently manage and execute multiple CAE analyses simultaneously to meet aggressive timing.
  • Collaborate with design and cross-functional teams to interpret results and propose design improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of AI / machine learning models for durability prediction, surrogate modeling, or automation of CAE workflows.
  • Continuously improve CAE efficiency through scripting, automation, and smart use of emerging tools.
