Summary: The Computer Network Specialist will assist users in identifying and solving data communication problems.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder presentations.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated experience with a BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related degree required.
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of demonstrated experience as a Computer Network Specialist with a current SSCP, Cyber Security Analyst+, Security+, Network Defense Analyst, and Network+ certifications. An ITIL or similar certification is desirable.
  • Minimum 3 – 4 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance if required.

  • Any additional related certifications.
  • Help desk support experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, tests, troubleshoots, and evaluates existing network systems, such as local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and internet systems or a segment of a network system.
  • Monitors and performs network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.
  • Analyzes test data and recommends hardware or software upgrades.
  • Identifies areas of operation, which need upgraded equipment.
  • Conducts surveys to determine user needs.
  • Develops and writes procedures for installation, use, and solving problems of communications hardware and software.
  • Assists users to identify and solve data communication problems.
  • Trains users in use of equipment.
