We are hiring a Computer Vision Engineer at our Reston, Virginia office to lead the design and build for heterogeneous unmanned systems.
Responsibilities
Set the strategic vision for Anduril’s simulation and test environments for unmanned systems.
Build and integrate model-, software-, and hardware-in-the-loop components by leveraging first and third party technologies related to simulation, data management, compute infrastructure, networking, and more.
Manage the various needs of both internal and external stakeholders to build and integrate tooling suites which evaluate autonomy and vehicle performance across a diverse range of conditions and reference missions.
Collaborate with internal team members and external partners in the autonomy domain to build technologies and processes which enable users to safely and rapidly develop and deploy autonomous systems at scale.
Travel to build, test, and deploy capabilities in the real world.
Requirements
Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in areas/fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
High ownership and autonomy across the end-to-end lifecycle of software development.
Integrate and write tests for camera calibration code.
Process and evaluate images from live tests used by camera systems in various flight conditions.
Develop and refine algorithms for real-time image processing and analysis.
4+ years working with a variety of programming languages such as C++, Rust, Go, etc.
Experience with customer-oriented UI/UX development.
Debug and troubleshoot software and hardware issues as they arise.
Experience leading small teams of cross functional engineers to design, build, and deploy software systems.
Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.
Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Nice-to-haves
Experience with SLAM systems.
Experience with estimation from RADAR or LIDAR systems.
General exposure to aviation concepts and aircraft design principles.
Experience with modern build and deployment tooling (e.g. NixOS, Terraform).
Experience designing complex software systems, and iterating upon designs via a technical design review process.
