About The Position
The Concierge serves as the first point of contact and initial ambassador to the community. By welcoming all who visit or call the community in a warm, helpful and competent manner, the Concierge plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression. The Concierge is responsible for facilitating communications for residents and staff. The Concierge respectfully interacts with all residents, family members, visitors, colleagues and staff. This is a safety sensitive position. It is understood that every incidental duty connected with operations listed in the job description is not always specifically described, and that employees, at the discretion of management, may be required to perform duties not within their job descriptions. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions are a logical assignment to the position.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of experience in communications or reception
- Possess or ability to learn and operate a PBX system and radio base unit within three months of employment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy which includes, but is not limited to, Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to read and write, follow written and verbal instructions, and communicate effectively in English.
- Thinking critically; defined as reading, understanding, and taking appropriate action on detailed and complex information.
- Sitting for long periods of time
- Lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs
- Repetitive actions/motion of one or both hands
- Hearing ordinary conversation and office sounds
- Verbal communication in person and on the phone
- Written communication by hand and on PC
Responsibilities
- Answers all telephone calls that come into the main switchboard and transfers the calls appropriately
- Greets and welcomes all visitors to and vendors of the community and ensures proper sign-in protocol is followed
- Initiates, listens and responds, as necessary, to radio transmissions involving residents or staff
- Maintains the Concierge Resident Directory and Data Sheet
- Safeguards confidential resident information and does not communicate it to anyone not authorized to have access to that information
- Attends all in-service trainings and meetings
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
