About The Position

Red River Technology is actively seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Junior Configuration Management professional to join our team in supporting a mission-critical program for the Navy. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the success of a crucial initiative that directly enhances national operational readiness across the entire US Naval Fleet. This role will support customer‑generated configuration management tasks by tracking, organizing, and facilitating the closure of actions assigned through the customer’s internal systems. This includes acting in a junior project management capacity to ensure CM‑related tasking is properly logged, monitored, and completed in alignment with program expectations all in support of a flagship integrated combat system for the Navy. As a Configuration Management Analyst, you will play a critical role in providing essential coordination and oversight of customer-directed CM actions, enabling efficient task management and supporting seamless communication across the program. Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or relevant work experience.
  • 3 years of Configuration Management experience or related field, within the DoD sector.
  • Familiarity with DoD standards and regulations.
  • Professional experience and high-level understanding of working with various operating systems and their implications.
  • Experience managing complex IT projects and familiarity with risk and issue management.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with configuration management tools.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required

Nice To Haves

  • Configuration Management certification desired.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary coordinator for configuration management‑related tasking assigned through the customer’s internal task management repository, including logging, tracking, updating, and closing customer‑directed CM actions.
  • Provide junior‑level project management support by monitoring task progress, updating action status, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring timely completion of customer‑assigned CM activities.
  • Assist in organizing CM‑related meetings, documenting action items, and following up on required deliverables until closure.
  • Monitor and maintain configuration management plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage the configuration control process to ensure that all changes are properly documented, reviewed, and approved.
  • Maintain configuration baselines and ensure that all configuration items (CIs) are accurately identified, documented, and tracked.
  • Conduct configuration audits to verify that the system configurations are consistent with the approved baselines.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that configuration management processes are integrated into the project lifecycle.
  • Track and report on software releases through change requests, impact assessment, and version control.
  • Prepare and present configuration status reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD standards, regulations, and best practices related to configuration management.
