About The Position

We are seeking a business-minded Programmer/Configurator Analyst who is creative, collaborative and committed. The primary responsibility of this role is to apply programming principles and logical problem-solving skills to develop and maintain product models within our Enterprise Product Configurator (Hussey Connects), as well as to extend functionality and automation across core enterprise systems (IFS). This position requires a well-balanced background that combines technical expertise with strong business acumen, proven problem-solving abilities, and effective interpersonal skills. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong passion for learning Hussey products and for working with the engineering and technical data required to support production. Candidates must be highly comfortable working in a close-knit, fast-paced team environment. A strong customer focus—serving both internal and external customers—is critical. Successful candidates will demonstrate a deep commitment to the success of the business and a willingness to step outside traditional role boundaries to get the job done, while also embracing new ideas that support and advance a lean culture.

Requirements

  • Programming Experience: Foundational programming experience with a demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and apply new programming languages and concepts.
  • Business Applications: Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) workflows such as: Manufacturing, finance, supply chain, HR/payroll. Experience with Enterprise Configure Price Quote (CPQ) software.
  • Proven Technical Aptitude and Experience: Experience in a technical role with proven ability to learn technical software and systems.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the company.
  • Team Collaborative Tools: MS Teams, Smartsheet, MS Office
  • 2 years of business experience preferred, with exposure to front-end development or programming (approximately 1 year).
  • Education: Associates degree in Computer Science preferred or related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • ERP/CPQ: IFS, Revalize Configure One
  • CAD: Read, interpret, and apply mechanical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Project Management: Experience managing technical projects is a plus.
  • Technical Expertise: JavaScript/jQuery, MS SQL, HTML5, CSS, Microsoft Visual Studio, Java is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain Specifications: Interface with key stakeholders to obtain product rules and detailed specifications for product part structures and routings.
  • Develop Hussey Connects User Interface: Build user interfaces for Hussey products in the Configurator based on product rules and Hussey business processes. This includes building out logic that builds Quotes, Orders, Change Orders documents in Connects.
  • Develop Product Skeleton: Build configuration rules and part skeleton based on product specifications provided by engineering in the configurator using programing principles and logic.
  • Publish and Deployment: Strict adherence to established validation and deployment procedures which includes afterhours support and team collaboration.
  • Troubleshooting: Utilize the Sysaid ticketing system to quickly troubleshoot problems identified by stakeholders.
  • Systems Analysis: Researches and analyzes business processes, data, and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement. Quickly and accurately evaluates complex problems to recommend and implement effective solutions. Collaborates closely with developers to deliver robust, agile solutions that improve efficiency and align with business needs. Performs functional and integrated testing to validate solutions against real-world user workflows.
  • Software Development: Modify and extend existing enterprise ERP and CPQ systems through enhancements, customizations, and automation. Work cross-functionally with technical and business partners to deliver complete, end-to-end solutions. Demonstrate a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), managing solutions from design through development, testing, deployment, and release/change management. Proactively support business deployments through clear communication and user training. Apply a disciplined, systematic approach to production changes, with a strong focus on risk mitigation and system stability.
  • System Management: Provide administration and configuration support for the enterprise ERP and CPQ systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to plan, coordinate, and execute enterprise software upgrades throughout the full system lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business objectives and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Project Coordination & Planning: Support project planning and execution by coordinating tasks, tracking progress, and working with cross functional business teams to prioritize work and meet agreed-upon timelines.
