About The Position

The Conflicts Analyst / Supervisor will play a central role in managing and strengthening the firm's conflict's function. This position focuses heavily on interpreting complex conflicts reports, applying the Rules of Professional Conduct, and independently resolving routine conflicts matters while escalating only highly complex issues when necessary . The role requires strong analytical judgment, deep familiarity with law firm conflicts processes, and the ability to manage high volumes of daily requests while maintaining strict compliance with professional ethics standards. This position also includes supervisory responsibility and participation in improving operational workflows within the conflicts department.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of conflicts management experience within a law firm
  • Demonstrated expertise analyzing complex conflicts reports , not solely generating them
  • Strong knowledge of the Rules of Professional Conduct related to conflicts of interest
  • Proven ability to independently resolve routine conflicts matters without frequent escalation
  • Experience working within mid-size to large law firm conflicts teams
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills capable of managing high-volume workflows
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Familiarity with legal conflicts software such as Aderant or Elite
  • Ability to work effectively with attorneys and senior legal stakeholders
  • Stable employment history with no pattern of job hopping
  • Candidates coming from corporate legal departments or industries outside of law firms will not be considered

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supervising or mentoring conflicts analysts or legal operations staff
  • Demonstrated experience improving or modernizing conflicts workflows and internal processes
  • Ability to operate effectively in high-volume environments handling 30–50 conflicts inquiries per day
  • JD or LL.M. degree (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end conflicts clearance process to ensure compliance with ethical obligations and internal firm policies
  • Review and analyze complex conflicts reports to identify potential risks related to client representations and new matters
  • Independently resolve routine conflicts issues using sound judgment and ethical standards
  • Escalate complex or novel conflicts matters to the Office of the General Counsel when appropriate
  • Supervise and mentor members of the conflicts team, providing guidance and training as needed
  • Manage daily intake and review of conflicts inquiries in a high-volume environment
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys, legal operations staff, and firm leadership on conflicts analysis and risk management
  • Contribute to process improvements and modernization initiatives within the conflicts department
  • Ensure consistent documentation and tracking of conflicts decisions and approvals
