About The Position

We are seeking a Consolidation Planner to join a high-performing, business-critical team in RJW’s Logistics department. This role is responsible for the successful planning of our customers’ orders to meet and exceed both customer and major retailer standards. Our Retail Consolidation team sits at the center of all planning and decision-making at the order and load level. Our team utilizes technology every day to enable the best possible service outcomes.

Requirements

  • Completed bachelor’s degree is required to be considered for this role
  • 0-2 years of logistics, supply-chain, 3PL – we welcome recent college graduates to apply regardless of area of study
  • Our ideal candidate will approach obstacles as opportunities to develop stronger, smarter processes and will possess a high-level of ownership towards career and professional growth
  • Must be available to work on occasion in-office in Lockport, IL or Romeoville, IL when requested in advance (1-week notice)
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and time management skills
  • Detail oriented, able to multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills; Exceptional teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Highly adaptable to evolving consolidation strategy
  • Completed bachelor’s degree, any field of study
  • Reliable transportation to and from Joliet/Romeoville, IL

Responsibilities

  • Consolidation Planners are responsible for optimizing orders into shipments that exceed service and revenue expectations. A Consolidation Planner may own shipments into a single major retailer or similarly, they may have shared ownership over planning for a retail program and be tasked with a variety of build strategies.
  • Because the Retail Consolidation team sits at the center of our operation, the Consolidation Planner will be tasked with close, professional collaboration with RJW Account Managers, Order Processors, IT teams, Warehouse teams, and Carrier teams. Professional communication always is a must.
  • Consistently meet or exceed KPIs for planning tasks assigned.
  • Problem-Solve: Identify gaps in our existing processes and systems and work to develop and implement solutions.
  • Communicate clearly and with the upmost professionalism in all written and verbal communication across all business departments in every situation and scenario.
  • Provide feedback to your manager often; know when to escalate issues and/or feedback.
  • Present your decision-making processes around orders, shipments, etc. to a manager-level audience.
  • Take full ownership of all load planning-related activities.
