Construction Carpenter (Experienced)

KHP Management LLCBethalto, IL

About The Position

At KH Properties, we believe strong communities start with strong values: Community, Integrity, and Quality. We specialize in the renovation and management of multifamily apartment communities throughout the Midwest and Southeastern United States. Our work focuses on revitalizing properties through thoughtful, high-quality construction—done the right way, every time. We are seeking an experienced Construction Carpenter to join our Construction team as we continue renovation work across our portfolio. This role is ideal for a skilled, dependable tradesperson who takes pride in craftsmanship, values consistency, and prefers focusing on doing the work well rather than leading a crew. This is not a leadership or maintenance position. Instead, this role is designed for a Specialist-type professional—someone who enjoys hands-on carpentry, clear expectations, and contributing reliably as part of a strong, structured team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on construction or carpentry experience.
  • Strong technical carpentry skills with the ability to consistently deliver high-quality work.
  • Comfortable working from plans, scopes, and direction without needing to lead others.
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and steady in performance.
  • Safety-minded with a strong understanding of proper jobsite practices.
  • Able to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to travel between properties within the Jackson metropolitan area.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to get to and from job sites consistently.
  • Physically able to perform job duties, including lifting up to 80 lbs and working in varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness to learn and use company programs and apps on provided smart devices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on carpentry and construction tasks including framing, layout, demolition, drywall, finish carpentry, concrete work, site work, grading, and drainage.
  • Execute work with precision and consistency, following established plans, scopes, and quality standards.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, saws, and measurement equipment.
  • Complete assigned tasks independently while collaborating with the broader construction crew.
  • Maintain clean, organized job sites and ensure tools and equipment are kept in good working condition.
  • Support other crews or projects as needed based on schedule and workload.
  • Follow safety protocols at all times and contribute to a jobsite culture focused on doing things right.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay based on skill level and experience (starting around $22+/hour, per our skill-based Career Path Table).
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance eligibility after the introductory period.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with 100% company match up to 4% after eligibility.
  • Paid holidays after 60 days of employment.
  • Vacation pay eligibility after the introductory period.
  • OSHA 10-hour training and additional certification opportunities.
  • A consistent, year-round workload with a standard 5-day work week and occasional overtime.
  • A respectful team environment where quality work is recognized and appreciated.
