Nations Roof is a nationwide provider of commercial roofing services headquartered in Mobile, AL. Nations operates out of 30+ locations and has completed re-roofing and service and repair projects in 49 states in the past year. Nations focuses on providing best-in-class customer service to local and national real estate owners across all types of commercial properties. The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to join a profitable, growing $ 400M+ private equity backed business. The senior management team, with the support of the recently invested private equity firm, AEA, aim to achieve the goal of growing revenue to $800M+ over the next 3-5 years. This leadership role provides the framework to make significant individual and team contributions as one of the Regional Controllers supporting the business and its growth plans. The successful candidate should be a high-potential performer who will take on increased responsibilities and project work with high visibility to management. The successful candidate will thus could utilize and showcase not only their business and technical knowledge but, also their leadership skills, to Regional Management, Executive Management and AEA. Scope and Responsibilities The Regional Controller will be a key member of the Accounting/Finance team working with the Corporate Controller to provide financial and business oversight for 4-6 of these business units working closely with the Business Unit Presidents and their teams. It is critically important to support the business unit leader and become a trusted resource to them, while reporting into the Finance organization. This position will be located remotely but require travel on a regular basis to the assigned business units and other Nations Roof locations on an as needed basis.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or finance required
At least 10 years accounting experience required - 5 years construction accounting/percentage of completion accounting preferred
Excellent analytical skills with advanced knowledge of Excel required and proficient general use of computers
Previous experience managing or working in a matrixed organization
Effective written and oral skills
Travel required, up to 10% of the time
Project coordination / project management skills.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to work both independently and with multiple teams in highly autonomous environment.
Must possess good communication skills and the ability to interact with staff and vendors.
Must be able to work effectively with little daily supervision.
Time management and the ability to effectively work in a remote environment is required
Problem solving skills.

Nice To Haves

CPA/CMA license, active and in good standing, preferred
Previous experience of financial reporting/ consolidation a plus
Prior experience in a private equity owned firm a plus
Knowledge of Viewpoint Vista or other construction related ERP is a plus

Responsibilities

For assigned business units supervise accounting and administrative staff on day-to-day accounting activities
Prepare monthly financial statements including WIP reports, balance sheet, and P&L, ensuring accuracy of the financial results in accordance with US GAAP
Analyze operating results and variances to budget and prior periods, providing insight and recommendations
Perform special analysis to support strategic business decision making
Collaborate with business unit management to update estimated cost at completion for jobs on a periodic basis
Review monthly bank reconciliations and monitor for any unusual activity
Manage cash disbursements and collections for assigned business units
Prepare information for the company’s annual financial audit
Prepare sales, use and income tax information as needed
Review and enforce internal controls and perform audits of controls on a regular basis
Training of accounting and administrative staff as required
Supervise the processing of weekly payroll submissions
Oversee the evaluation and spending of capital expenditure
Prepare business unit budgets and forecasts by partnering with local business unit management
Identify areas for improvement in financial control and efficiency gains in operations; provide supporting analysis and implement actions to drive improvement
