What you will be doing: Take part in all phases of litigation and pre-litigation. Communicate with clients. Develop litigation strategies. Defend and resolve construction claims. Draft discovery and motions. Participate in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes such as mediation and arbitration. Take and defend depositions. Make court appearances. Experience you will need: Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Admitted to the State Bar in Virginia. Working knowledge of construction contracts and construction law. Experience preparing and negotiating construction contracts. Experience representing clients in disputes involving breach of contract, surety bond and mechanic’s lien claims, and related construction agreements.
