We are looking to hire a Construction Management Intern based in our Lewiston, ME office. Role Summary The Construction Management Intern works directly under the supervision of Senior Project Managers and Superintendents to gain hands-on experience in the planning, budgeting, and execution of construction projects. The role also assists in daily field operations and administrative tasks, and will gain a comprehensive view of the construction lifecycle from pre-construction to project closeout.

Requirements

  • Education: In process of bachelors in construction management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Blueprint Reading: Basic ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Driver's License: Valid drivers license and reliable transportation to visit various job sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Software Experience: Familiarity with construction management software such as Trimble Projectsight, Bluebeam Revu, Excel, or Microsoft Project.
  • Certifications: OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
  • Previous Experience: Prior internship or field experience in the construction industry.
  • Estimating Skills: Exposure to cost estimating or quantity take-offs.

Responsibilities

  • Project Documentation: Assist in the preparation and management of RFI (Request for Information) logs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Site Supervision: Accompany the Superintendent on site walkthroughs to monitor progress, quality control, and safety compliance.
  • Scheduling: Help update the master construction schedule using project management software and track milestone completion.
  • Vendor Coordination: Communicate with subcontractors and material suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Meeting Support: Attend weekly owner/contractor (OC) meetings, take detailed minutes, and distribute action items to the team.
  • Cost Control: Assist in reviewing invoices, verifying quantities of work in place, and tracking project costs against the budget.
  • Safety Compliance: Participate in safety orientations and help conduct site safety audits to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
