This opportunity is onsite Charleston, SC, United States #LI-Onsite The Role As the Construction Manager you will be responsible for overseeing a tank construction project in an active chemical manufacturing plant. Requirements

  • 10+ years industrial experience working in the chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Previous experience with API 650 above ground, site built, steel tanks.
  • Experience in industrial construction methods as currently used in chemical manufacturing facilities.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control methods for common to tank construction.
  • Experience overseeing groups of contractors during construction.
  • Outdoor work experience, able to wear required PPE and drive safely to jobsite, and to walk and climb at the jobsite as needed to oversee the construction site work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed the company and customer safety standards.
  • Read and fully understand engineering construction packages and other documents which describe the scope of work to be done.
  • Review and comment on material take-offs and construction estimating.
  • Follow up on ordered materials, field installation and redlines.
  • Provides field support throughout the lifecycle of each project.
  • Be the primary job contact for vendors/contractors providing services to the project.
  • Monitor and manage job contractors to assure that they meet or exceed site safety standards.
  • Support job contractors during mobilization, through the course of the construction, and through demobilization.
  • Comply with and assure that construction work complies with all company and customer procedures, engineering and construction practices and other standards.
  • Work closely with plant engineers, contractors, and team members to achieve project success.
  • Field as-built, measurement, and design as project requires.
