As a Construction Materials Field Supervisor, you will oversee a dedicated team of construction materials testing professionals, managing daily operations across multiple project sites. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring project success through top-notch testing services, fostering strong client relationships, and enhancing operational efficiency. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction materials testing/inspecting of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing (potentially up to 12 hours a day)
  • Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
  • Working outside of normal business hours and traveling (typically out-of-town and/or overnight) as project needs arise
  • Candidates must comply with our Fleet Management, Substance Policy, and Reference Check requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical engineering or a construction-related field is a plus
  • Active Construction Materials industry certifications such as: American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician and/or International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils), a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and oversight to field staff, organize schedules with clients and contractors, and manage personnel for field assignments.
  • Frequently coordinate with Services Managers and Project Managers on the progress of current and upcoming projects.
  • Train staff on field testing and inspections, oversee certification opportunities, and maintain a summary of current employee certifications.
  • Lead safety efforts for field staff, conduct regular safety meetings, and coach staff on the use of PPE and safety protocols.
  • Ensure staff have appropriate testing equipment, assist with equipment maintenance and calibration, and support the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
