About The Position

The HIRE360 Instructor is passionate about growing the future of construction in Chicago. This individual is responsible for facilitating test prep readiness classes. The Hands‑On Construction Instructor is responsible for delivering practical, skills‑based training to students pursuing careers in the construction industry. This role involves teaching foundational and advanced construction techniques, ensuring a safe learning environment, and preparing trainees for real‑world jobsite expectations. The instructor combines industry expertise with effective teaching practices to build student competency, confidence, and employability.

Requirements

  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills

  • Minimum of High School diploma, post-secondary education is preferred
  • Requires reliable transportation including state mandated insurance.

  • Nonprofit experience is a plus
  • Experience creating and update curriculum
  • Construction trades or education experience is preferred.
  • OSHA 500 certification

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate NABTU Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3) and other curriculums with a goal of preparing candidates for a successful career starting in a building trades apprenticeship program
  • Deliver hands-on training in core construction skills such as carpentry, framing, drywall installation, roofing, electrical and use of power/hand tools
  • Instruct students in both classroom and workshop settings, providing hands-on training and demonstrations of trade techniques
  • Demonstrate proper techniques, procedures, and industry-standard best practices
  • Provide instruction in reading blueprints, construction math, measurement and layout.
  • Facilitate various workshops such as tool awareness
  • Assist in creating, updating, and improving hands-on training modules‑on training modules
  • Collaborate with program leadership to ensure curriculum aligns with current industry practices and workforce needs
  • Maintain and manage tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Monitor student progress and provide supportive, constructive feedback

  • Enforce OSHA standards and jobsite safety protocols at all times
  • Conduct safety demonstrations and ensure all students use PPE
