About The Position

The Construction Safety Manager plays a critical leadership role in guiding all safety‑related operations across our commercial construction projects, ensuring full compliance, accurate documentation, and alignment with project‑driven objectives. This leader is hands‑on, regularly visiting jobsites, collaborating directly with field teams, and providing practical guidance while actively participating in day‑to‑day safety activities. The salary range for this position (depending on experience) is $115,000 to $130,000 per year, reflecting progression to a highly seasoned construction safety leader who elevates organizational performance and strengthens our safety culture. This position requires a consistent leadership presence and regular site visits, including travel up to 50%, and reports to 5900 Harris Technology Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28269 as part of its ongoing responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of construction safety management experience (e.g., Site Safety Manager, Safety Coordinator, Safety Specialist, Field Safety Technician, etc.).
  • At least 10 years in the commercial construction industry.
  • OSHA 30 Certification (required).
  • CPR/First Aid Certifications (required).
  • Knowledge of OSHA construction regulations.
  • Strong communication and training ability.
  • Leadership and problem-solving.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Use of a company vehicle for work-related travel or mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use.

  • CSP, CHST, CSMC, CSHO Certifications (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and enforce construction safety policies, procedures, and jobsite-specific safety plans.
  • Conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local requirements.
  • Perform regular and frequent job-site safety inspections across multiple locations (approximately 50% travel required).
  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations and implement corrective measures.
  • Maintain detailed safety records and documentation.
  • Partner with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and regulators.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related issues and emergencies.
  • Promote a culture of trust and accountability.
  • Deliver comprehensive safety training.
  • Monitor safety metrics and adjust programs.
  • Promote psychological safety and empowerment.
  • Must be able to conduct digital inspections, incident reporting, corrective action tracking, and safety documentation within Procore’s safety tools.
  • Understanding of contractor qualification reviews, safety compliance monitoring, and supply‑chain safety oversight.
