About The Position

Are you passionate about workplace safety and pursuing a career in construction? If so, this job is for you! Daniels Construction is looking for a Safety Co-op/Intern to support our operations. This role provides hands-on experience in construction safety management, regulatory compliance, site inspections, and safety training. The intern will work closely with project teams to help ensure adherence to company policies and OSHA standards. Day in the life Assist with workplace safety inspections, hazard assessments, and audits. Work with supervisors and employees to help identify potential hazards and promote safe work practices. Support the development, review, and updating of safety policies and procedures. Help maintain safety documentation, including training records, inspection logs, and corrective action reports. Participate in or observe incident investigations, including root cause analysis and recommendations. Assist in delivering or preparing materials for safety trainings and toolbox talks. Track and maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentation, including OSHA. Support ongoing safety awareness campaigns and employee engagement initiatives. Participate in new hire safety orientations. Monitor PPE compliance and safe work practices on site while enforcing job site safety standards Collect and analyze safety performance data. Perform other EHS-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and/or GED, required
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Construction Management, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in workplace safety, compliance, and hazard prevention.
  • Strong communication, observation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in both office and active construction site environments.
  • Strong understanding of the basics of construction, willingness to learn, and not afraid to get dirty.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of OSHA or other EHS regulations (preferred but not required).
